In February of 2014, I was head baseball coach at University High School.  My son Michael was an assistant coach.  He would be graduating from Illinois State University in May with a degree in Exercise Science.

One night as we drove to an off-season team workout, I shared with him my "dream" of starting our own business together.  It would include an indoor athletic training facility.  Michael could manage the daily operations.

We would spread the word of Jesus Christ in our lessons and mentorship of young players.  Our facility would operate high-level club teams, and we would use those teams to share the gospel with others.  We would call it "Game Seven Sports"...

Why "Game Seven", Michael asked?

Because when people think of Game Seven they think "do or die" - but the real Game Seven is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior - and we will help athletes make that decision and grow in their faith.

Michael liked the name "Game Seven," and the idea.

In April 2014, Michael was killed by a drunk driver.

My hope with Game Seven is to honor God by following this vision I shared with Michael - and to help athletes grow in their faith by providing a Christ-centered athletic experience.

Sincerely,

Jim Collins
